New S1 RC-S user ( we have 2)... despite living in S Wisc am.learning these excellent bikes allow you to go much farther, longer than ever before. Safety is a concern always ( love my first ever mirror and extra tail blinker)...have determined next year to get a Carrier Rack to explore many bike trails in Wisc ( aka no car traffic)...this thread is helpful to find best, seems Kuat and Hollywood are top of list, not Thule, Yamaha it seems...others?

2016 Jeep Wrangler w/ 33" tires / Kuat Pivot v2 Swing Away Extension (250 lb max cap) / Yakima OnRamp e-Bike Hitch (2-66 lb bikes)

There was no way a tilt down hitch platform rack was going to work on my Wrangler set-up. The wide spare tire on the gate would require a complicated extension for the 2" receiver for clearance and still work with a rack. The longer the extension, the weaker the set-up. I measured, contacted different manuf. support staffs etc. The best set-up I came up with was by adding a Kuat Pivot v2 swing away arm. No need to try and tilt the rack to get very limited access to my cargo. It swings out to 90/120 degrees. The pivot is a beast! I added the Yakima OnRamp platform rack and only use one bike platform. It folds up perfectly next to my spare. Holds (2) 66 lb bikes. I couldn't be happier (except I'm a lot lighter in the wallet).

I will say the plastic ramp you attach for rolling the heavy bike onto the platform is tricky. The actual rack tilts toward the tailgate by enough degrees that the ramp is never level when rolling the bike up, so it can keep slipping off the ramp. I usually just hoist it up, but it's nice to have in a pinch.

Be careful if mounting on the front hitch like I have set up. Only Hollywood racks are made so if you hit something or slam on the brakes the rack stays in place instead of folding forward (potentially injuring a pedestrian for example).

Racks that are hitch- or receiver-mounted and tray- or platform-style are generally the most suitable for E-bikes. Not only do they require less of a lift to get your bike onto the rack, but they are also more likely to be rated to hold the weight of one or more E-bikes. Tow bar-mounted bike racks are my preferred mode of transportation. There are many bike carriers with ramps that make loading them easier. You can try the Yakima StageTwo, Hollywood Racks Destination E, or Thule EasyFold XT 2. I think ideally, you'll want a 2-inch trailer hitch. With heavier loads, a smaller hitch will cause more side-to-side movement of the rack. It is safe and secure to haul multiple electric bicycles with a 2" trailer hitch.
