I spent six grand on a mosh tribute that I can’t even use. No matter what I do I can’t get the battery to install. I even tried banging on the damn thing and it won’t click in place. I’ve watched the video.

Two questions- Is this effing thing made in China? and- Why can’t I install the effing battery?

Hi, welcome to the forum. Sorry to hear your having problems putting it in. I know it is a bit tight and I only have to apply downward pressure once the battery is nearly in. I can’t imagine what would cause it to not go in. I’m assuming that you‘ve checked that nothing is in the compartment stopping It from going in? No plugs or caps on the electrical contacts? You should consider taking it to the dealer and ask them to check it out.
Good luck

Hi,
I have just purchased online a Rush City Step Thru and am having the same issue with that battery. I have been dealing with [email protected] and am getting nowhere. This is a brand new bike, have not even installed the pedals on it yet. Very disappointing with this battery issue and customer service that I am getting. Have done all that they ask and replaced parts that have been sent and it still does not work. Any one has any advice please reply. Thank you.

Make sure the electrical connectors on the bike and battery are not bent. Make sure you’ve removed the key and the little metal deal inside slides back-and-forth freely. When you install the battery not only push down to seat it but also push it back toward the connector. That’s what fixed my issue.

Thanks for the reply. I have done all that unfortunately. This problem started when assembling bike. Could not get to turn to open battery compartment. Finally broke free and turned. Took out battery and that pin/spring assembly on lock mechanism was rolling around in bottom of compartment. Received new lock mechanism with pin/spring assy intact. Now battery won't push down enough to lock. Per instructions shaved down the rubber battery bumper in compartment to point of destroying. Received new battery bumper which was preshaved to what was expected to work. Installed. Still cannot get battery to lock in place. Have pushed, pulled, one hand, two hands, wiggled back and forth, practically walked on and lock will not engage. So like you, have a $5000.00 bike sitting in my basement unusable. serial1 support has not been very supportive on this issue considering that I am doing all their legwork. Have sent them pictures, videos, replaced parts to no avail. I don't have a dealership close that carries the bikes. The closest one tells me they will not look at because it is an out of box problem and has to be resolved first. Very frustrated and disappointed that I made this purchase. Hope others have had better luck than me.
