Took my 3rd ride, S1 Speed, so far very pleased after 50+ miles
but...small connection cable to hub came out when did a U turn and heard a grinding, rattle sound and peddles spun
...S1 tech said Hub may have been installed at factory on the wrong Spline ( belt too close to cable), that I need to re install the Hub and sent me a few PDFs that didn't address the issue specifically. I'm ok to do this but would appreciate specifics of how so I don't mess it up.

Also, any info on the Firmware update, is it essential, seems long time to download.
Thanks all

I did the firmware update - only took a couple of minutes/bike. Then set target crank speed to a lower value - it defaults to 75 RPM. I currently have ours set tp 45 RPM and it feels pretty comfortable here in Florida with no hills. Still learning...

johncfinney: My Enviolo Hub Interface was loose and cracked. I was able to get a replacement thru warranty, with a little arm twisting. They shipped it to me and I did my own replacement. Pretty straight forward. You probably have the same docs they sent me. With the wheel off and adjusting the interface on the splines just make sure it is as level as possible, and level with the semi flat side of the Axle Slider Cap. Easier said than done. The electrical connection optimally needs to be level and behind the belt/chain stay. If it's too high/low it could cause the problem you experienced or make it more vulnerable to mishaps. I had to remove the interface a 2nd time because it was 4-5 splines too low. Now it is behind the belt stay.

They say do not tighten the bolt very tight, hand tight, but that is why my original was loose and rattled. I did hand tight and then just a little bit extra with the screwdriver. I had to do a complete re=register of the hub and now I am working on getting my settings the way I had them, although the numbers aren't working out the same. I need to keep tinkering.

Thanks for the follow up...went for my 4th ride, couldn't figure out why my belt to AHI Cable gap would vary between 1/2" to 1/16th inch, almost rubbing ...I checked my wife's S1 RCS and her Enviolo housing was fixed, solid and her hub bolt very tight...yep, turns out my hub bolt was not tight and allowed my Enviolo hub housing to slip upward 1/2 wiggle, so I tightened it down, easy fix ( so far)...in meantime S1 support techs did nice job trying to assist... altho I'm still not sure how the Hub/ Spline thing works?
