On the top of the Control, right in front of the headlight button, there is a button with a circle on it. What does this button do? Is this the "Walk Assist"?

The manual says "A push-button "walk-assist" function which provides a low level of forward motion to help easily maneuver the eBicycle at walking speeds, especially when there is a need to push the eBicycle up a hill."

But I cannot figure out how to activate this functionality. And how exactly could this work on a mid-drive motor? Wouldn't it cause the pedals to turn?

OK I found the following on the Serial 1 Support site:

Using the Walk Assist Feature:
Step One: Locate your thumb-actuated walk assist button on the underside of the Brose remote display.
Step Two: Press and hold the walk-assist button while walking. Note that the walk assist feature will propel the bike forward at a walking pace for as long as the button is held, or until the bike exceeds 4mph.

So there is another button on the bottom of the controller. OK. Tried it. Still nothing. Pressing and holding it makes the blue LED flash but nothing else happens.

Also according to the Support site, the button in front of the headlight button switches the display LEDs to battery level. OK, but they switch to battery display automatically after a second or two. Or maybe this turns that off? I will have to play with it and see if any of this makes sense.

The button in front of the headlight button does nothing.

The Walk Assist button on the underside of the control also does nothing but cause the blue LED to blink.

Perhaps when the Serial 1 App comes out, we'll be able to configure these. But I don't know.

Will they release a S1 app? There is a bluetooth icon on the display so I guess the brose "display" unit would be capable of being connected to it via bluetooth. It is definately a required feature.
