Hello all

Getting my first EV bike ever, the Rush City speed and excited. Not an avid bicycle rider though I ride motorcycles. Now at 60, I want to keep healthy and with my health issues, thought EV is the way to go so I won’t get discouraged riding.
Now to my question. I expect the CVT will continue to function if the battery is out of charge and motor is off enabling me to keep peddling like a normal bike with gears. Is that true? Thanks for the response.

Hi welcome to the forum. I have never rode with the battery dead but I have turned the assist off (at the controller) and since there is no device to shift the hub it is automatiq after all, you are essentially pedaling a single speed bike and the bike weighs a lot. You will get home but it will take a some effort especially on a big uphill climb. I would recommend not running out of juice and monitor remaining battery percentage and range to ensure you get home.
