Is it a self locking nut that loosens? Has anyone tried blue loctite to prevent the nut from loosening ? You have not posted a photo, I am simply guessing, which I hate doing on any repair.

Is it the outer axle nuts that are loosening or the inner nut which pre-load the axle bearings?

Have my rear wheel off now, mounting bolts use blue Loctite to prevent them from loosening.

Serial 1 is doing the right thing. Easy repair that should work . If you want, there is a gel marker paint that is used on race vehicles which is laid across the bolt head or nut. If the painter line does not line up, you know for sure the bolt, nut has loosened. Should be able to locate a tube online but Pegasus Auto Parts.com definitely has it in various colors. I prefer orange or red. Just a thought.

There are Automotive Racing parts companies in Europe that carry the bolt, nut “witness” gel. It hardens like a rock when dry.

If the bolts loosen I will know because this red line will be broken and not line up.
