In order to make the lock, which serial 1 specifically claim works, fit. Is to remove the protective rubber coating off the lock mechanism. Risking paint scratches. Otherwise you have to maleform the storage areas liner and force the VERY cheaply made hatch shut.

While I’m hating, the rubber flap over the lock hole is asinine.

Sad to hear that the recommend lock doesn’t fit. It also is a real hassle to get said lock keyed to match. I learned very early that the glovebox doesn’t secure very well. I can grab that rubber flap and just pull the door open. No need to unlock it. I only keep a cheap rain jacket in their for emergency use.

I haven’t checked since July of 2021. The only dealer here in Alaska laughed and said they had never had an Abus lock keyed to match any electric bikes lock. I checked with Lockitt and back then the time line was months as the lock has to be keyed in Germany. I didn’t want to wait and got this instead and works for my needs + much cheaper.
