I purchased and put the 2.8” tires on my step-thrus. I wanted a little more squish by running lower tire pressures afforded by wider tires so going over curbs, pot holes, sidewalk cracks and root bumps under paved bike paths and such don’t sting as much since these bikes don’t have any built in suspension. The fenders are big enough to catch the water spraying off the tires when fording through puddle's and spring melt off.

Good to know. I have to say this bike is RIGID. I thought of lowering tire psi as a way to soften it up a bit, but have heard that this can create a large reduction in range. Have you seen any issues with that yet? Granted, I don't ride 90 miles a day anyway, so probably wouldn't notice too much anyway...LOL

I haven’t seen any real range reduction but not doing anything scientific. I never ride more than 25 miles or so on a ride and still have some battery left but I do ride mostly in eco or tour mode.
